As the company has grown, so has their manufacturing processes and they were using traditional industrial printers for date coding. Michael informed us the company was "being consumed by the maintenance costs and general up keep in order to code date our products."

Like many of our manufacturing customers, Michael informed us GrandPapa's was searching for a "much more cost effective way to achieve the same result" without breaking their budget. They needed a solution that was simple, easy-to-use and affordable. But not only that, they also needed a reliable and versatile date code printer that didn't require routine maintenance or servicing.

Simplifying Coding with SNEED-JET® Printers

GrandPapa's installed their first SNEED-JET® printer in October 2019. The first installation was the SNEED-JET® Titan 22 featuring two half inch print heads that can be mounted on opposite sides of a conveyor to print date codes on both sides of their boxes. According to Michael, "The printer was not hard to set up and Sneed Coding was available to walk me through any troubleshooting."

The SNEED-JET® Titan 21/22 was such a hit that a few months later they also installed the SNEED-JET® Titan Printer featuring a single half inch print head - this time with a fast drying ink for printing on their non-porous packaged products. Michael reports that the printers are working reliably in "two printing applications [printing] thousands of times per day." And, they've also added the SNEED-JET® Titan T6 Handheld printer for on-the-fly date coding as needed.

the bottom line

GrandPapa's mirrors many of our customers when they first contact us - struggling with traditional date coding technologies and almost desperate for an easier and more cost effective solution. Getting feedback like this from customers like Michael is why we strive to #KeepCodingSimple:

"The biggest effect was lowering the costs of date coding. Traditional industrial printers usually run thousands of dollars more and achieve the same result. Sneed Coding has reduced this cost exponentially for our bottom line."
