Our Rookies Are Here to Give You Their Take on Everything They’ve Learned, in Their Short Time Here

We all know what starting a new job feels like; that feeling of whether you’ll fit in or not; whether you’ll get along with your coworkers; even if you’ll be able to fulfill what’s being asked of you. While our rookies have only been here for a short amount of time, we can guarantee that they’ve learned tons, not just about Sneed Coding Solutions, but the industry itself. However, rather than try to sum up their experiences and give you an idea of what it is they do for us, we’re going to go ahead and let them tell you for themselves.

2022 10 - Rookies

Our Digital Media Specialist

If you’ve ever seen any of our social media posts, videos and blogs, then you would have noticed the graphics, gifs and video compilations that go along with them; these were all created by our digital media specialist, Quinton. So, how is our digital media specialist getting along here at Sneed Coding Solutions? Well, Quinton goes on to say that,

  • “When I first joined the team, there was some anxiety as to whether or not I’d like the folks here, but now that I’ve settled in, it feels like a family in some ways. It’s a great mix of fun and business; everyone has fun here, but when it’s time to get serious there’s no issue making that switch.”
  • “I’ve also had to learn how to work in a small team and I can confidently say that I’ve embraced it; anytime I have an idea I’ll run it by Ken and the team and it’s so nice to have the creative freedom to bring it to life.”

In addition to the importance of fitting in, what does a typical day look like for our digital media specialist?

  • “I don’t really have a typical day to day per say because there’s always something new to work on, but if I had to breakdown my common to-do's, I'd say that I usually start the day off checking project tasks, then I divide up my time to edit graphics and videos, and finally I'll check to see what content is needed for emails, blogs and videos.”
  • “In addition to a typical day, I have learned so much about the importance of coding to the world and how it affects everyday life; it just seems like the packaging and marking world is always pushing to come up with the next innovative breakthrough.”

Our Technical Services Specialist

If you’ve ever called our tech support team before, then chances are you were greeted by the friendly voice of our team member Sam! Even though our newest technical service specialist has only been here for a month, we can confidently say that he’s absolutely nailing it, but we’ll let him give you his two cents.

  • “I’d say the top three things that make working for Sneed great are the people, the environment, and I’m doing what I like to do. I especially enjoy how calm working here is and the fact that most customers that call are very easy going.”

So, aside from helping all of our wonderful customers, what else do you do Sam; what does a day in the life of our newest technical service specialist look like?

  • “I’d say that my typical day consists of responding to emails, taking calls, sending quotes, and fixing both the printers and ink cartridges. In addition, I’m also learning how to refine my emails and I’m getting hands-on experience with new programs.”

Our Content Marketing Copywriter

If you’ve read a recent piece of Sneed Coding Solutions’ content, such as a social media posts, email, new equipment description, even this blog, chances are it was written by none other than me, Alexa!

  • “I would say that I’m responsible for staying up to date with industry trends, researching topics, and finally writing tons of content for multiple platforms. Honestly, the great thing about working here at Sneed is that I know I’m never going to stop learning; this industry is too vast and ever changing, which is great because I’m the kind of person that needs to constantly be kept on their toes.”

So, what is it that my days consist of? Well, let me give you a small glimpse of what it is that I do; I swear it’s more than just writing essays for a living.

  • “To start off, I would say that I really don’t have a typical day, it really just depends on what we’re working on; for instance, during Pack Expo I would focus primarily on highlighting our inkjet coding equipment, applicable customer success stories, emails, social media posts, etc. Now that the expo’s over though, the focus has shifted over to SNEED-CAST and SNEED-PACK, so my past couple of assignments have been heavily centered around these new ventures.”

Lastly, the age old question, “do you feel like you’re fitting in?”

  • “Before I even started working here, I had told Ken that I just felt like I had really clicked with everyone I had interviewed with here at Sneed and almost two months down the line and I couldn’t have been more right. The work environment is calm when it needs to be, but there’s also a lot of life and laughter whenever we’re having little celebrations.”
  • “Not only is the work environment perfectly balanced, but it’s nice to know that management actually cares about their team members, their work, and they’re willing to give constructive criticism when need be.”

Our Order Fulfillment Associate

If you’ve ever bought any of our products, then you’re already well aware of just how much we prioritize shipping orders out; the last thing we’d want you dealing with is outrageous wait times. However, without our order fulfillment team none of that would be possible, so here’s the latest member of the team, John, to give you some insight on what goes on behind the scenes.

  • “My days definitely vary, there are some days where orders are consistently coming in and I’m on the go and other days where it’ll be calmer and I’ll get the chance to help other departments; either way, I enjoy not just sitting down at my desk the entire time.”

Aside from fulfilling orders and being a master of all trades, how does John feel about being a part of the Sneed Coding Solutions team?

  • “One of the best parts about working here is the people, everyone’s really friendly and cool. Aside from just working with my team members here, it’s also great that we get together on the weekends and play softball because then we really get to know one another and it brings us closer as a team.”

We think it’s safe to say that every rookie brings their own assets to the team, whether it be in marketing, technical services, or order fulfillment. It’s also pretty obvious that our rookies took to the Sneed team, like fish to water; there’s nothing but great things to be said about a company that provides a safe and happy work environment, as well as a team that works hard to make sure everything is running smoothly.
