It’s always interesting to hear about how our fellow Sneed members got their start in the company and what steps they took to grow in their field; before our order fulfillment manager attained his position, he joined the team as an order fulfillment associate. Within a short amount of time, Tyler had earned the nickname “Bob the Builder” because his first couple of weeks were spent transporting furniture, deconstructing and constructing racks, putting the desks together, and rearranging stored inventory. Of course being the company handyman was just the beginning; after everything was settled into the new building, Tyler’s journey in order fulfillment finally kicked off.
There seems to be a pattern going on here, all of our award winners for the year originated in Megan’s department, which means that boot camp must really be kicking everyone into gear. After being Bob the Builder, it was time to learn the ins and outs of order fulfillment; during this stage Tyler learned the printer assembly and check-in process, as well as how to process orders. Order fulfillment isn’t the only department that peaked Tyler’s interest, he also took interest in the technical side of the business when he tried his hand at building conveyors and then he moved on to sales when he started cold calling under our VP of Sales and Marketing, Ken. There’s a running joke in the office that anyone that leaves order fulfillment is bound to come back because after exploring different departments within the company, Tyler came back. In order to make sure that Tyler would stay within the order department, Megan promoted him to order fulfillment manager and since then, he’s become one of the department’s strongest pillars.
Becoming an order fulfillment manager takes time, dedication, and a disciplined work ethic, but let’s hear what the man of the hour has to say about his journey here at Sneed and what winning employee of the year meant for him.
For employees like Tyler, there’s no such thing as slowing down or becoming complacent, so what comes next after achieving the role of order fulfillment manager?
Hard work definitely doesn’t go unnoticed around here and believe it or not, it’s not just upper management that has realized all of the hard work that Tyler has been putting in; his fellow colleagues have plenty to say as well. So, what’s it like working with Tyler and what made him the ideal recipient for employee of the year?
