They use only top quality materials in manufacturing filters, housings, and, complete systems. Quality assurance is a critical part of their manufacturing processes and inkjet coding is used for traceability purposes.

Continuous Downtime Leads to Change

Kenny Reynolds leads the Maintenance team at Air Filters, Inc. with responsibility for ensuring all production equipment is fully functioning and operational to be able to deliver products on time for their customers. As with many of our customers, the inkjet coding printers fall under the plant maintenance personnel's purview, which means Kenny is also responsible for this aspect of production.

They had been using the Linx 4900 continuous inkjet coder for lot and batch coding for many years. This technology uses hazardous liquid inks and is prone to service or maintenance related downtime. Kenny knew there had to be a simpler and more cost effective way to print lot and batch codes on their filters.

He first contacted our company in 2018 (our first year of operation) and spoke to Bryan about the ongoing issues with his continuous inkjet printer. Bryan suggested trying our thermal inkjet coding technology instead. Kenny was please to find out that a new thermal inkjet coder was more affordable than replacing his continuous inkjet printer.

Three Years and Still Going Strong

He installed his first thermal inkjet coder in February 2018 and hasn't looked back since. As he recalls, it only took 1-2 hours to get the printer installed and set up to start lot coding. He reports to us they have been using our thermal inkjet coding technology every day since and his production operators are pleased with the simplicity and headache free operation:

"It has been very nice to have a clean and not stinky ink system in out production area. Our operators enjoy how easy it is to use and change ink on the printer. It makes the printed information easier to read as well. It also has drastically reduced down time for having to stop and clean the old inkjet print head or having to get a tech come out and do a yearly service on it, too."
