What Could Possibly Be Better Than Winning MVP? How About Winning People’s Choice at the Same Time?

The History of Sneed Coding Solutions

Our CEO, Bryan Sneed, had been in the coding and marking industry for 15-years when he decided to start Sneed Coding Solutions at the end of 2017. While Bryan had worked with continuous inkjet and high resolution print systems over the course of his career, in 2006 he got hooked on thermal-inkjet technology, after he started working with ANSER printers.

What is it that made thermal-inkjet technology so appealing? According to Bryan, “the technology is maintenance and headache free, which is a drastic change from the traditional technologies used for coding and marking over the past several decades.” Not to mention that in 2017 Hewlett-Packard finally developed a solvent based, fast drying ink that was compatible with thermal-inkjet cartridges; this advancement made it possible to expand into the world of primary packaging.

Since the beginning, we’ve made it our mission to #KeepCodingSimple and we’ve been able to stay true to that commitment thanks to thermal-inkjet technology. However, it's not just the technology that makes this possible, it's our people. From 2017, until now, we’ve seen our team of rock stars grow from just Bryan & Lucy to almost 20 people at the end of 2022. It's this incredible team combined with great technology that makes it possible to help our customers simplify their coding and marking processes. While our SNEED-JET® coders are responsible for simplifying the coding process, our team has made it possible to grow at the rate that we’ve done.

Who Won MVP and People’s Choice for 2022?

The company wouldn’t be able to run like a well oiled machine without the effort that each and everyone of our team members give; however, we want to take the time to highlight this one member in particular. Daniel Mogensen, has been a member of the Sneed team since May of 2020 and his journey has led him through a variety of roles.

When Daniel first started working for Sneed, back in May of 2020, he started off on the order fulfillment team; a year after that he had taken on a marketing assistant role; after a couple of months he moved up to a sales and marketing coordinator and as of most recently he’s taken on the additional responsibilities of trade show coordinator. Not to mention that thanks to Daniel’s web coding skills, the company hasn’t had to waste time or money or even outsource labor finding someone to make adjustments to our site.

We’ve always jokingly argued about who the Most Valued Player (MVP) is in the office, but one of the members that embodies that “valued” portion of MVP is none other than Daniel. Thanks to his wide knowledge of the different aspects of the business, he is able to help out wherever the company needs him - not only able to, but he is always happy to help wherever he is needed.

Whenever anyone needs help in the office, Daniel’s the first to offer his assistance; not to mention that since he’s worked a variety of positions he’s been able to accumulate quite a number of skills. This is likely why we he was voted the company's first People's Choice in 2022. This new award is voted on by all employees as to who most embodies the company's core values. Although it was a close vote, including a revote / recount, Daniel ultimately had the most votes from his colleagues.

Daniel MVP and Peoples Choice

What Do Fellow Sneed Members Have to Say?

According to our Vice President of Operations, Megan Sneed,

  • “Daniel was the first person to go through my bootcamp and while he naturally made a  handful of mistakes in the beginning, after he got the hang of it, he took off and since then he’s just been exceeding expectations.”
  • “Daniel is our utility player, you can put him anywhere on the field and he’ll excel at anything that you throw at him; not to mention that he’s always willing to help you out, regardless if you’re a coworker or customer.”

According to our Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ken Mogensen

  • “I give him a hard time usually, that’s just how we are, he gives it back in full. Being his big brother I don’t normally like to compliment Daniel too much, but I am proud of him. Seeing his progression from Megan’s first order fulfillment employee to an integral member of the sales & marketing team is impressive; I have to hand it to him…just don’t tell him I said so.”

According to our Founder and CEO, Bryan Sneed

  • “Wherever Daniel’s been needed, he’s just been incredible; if we get behind on print samples, he’ll go and catch us up to speed; if someone were to get sick in Megan’s department, then Daniel would go and help out order fulfillment; then he started helping out with the website, which helped save us hundreds of dollars. ”
  • “Daniel also prioritizes adding new products onto our site; a lot of the time that we would have a new product to sell, I would procrastinate and not put it on the website, but now Daniel has the ability to list it, sell it, pack it, and ship it.”

According to our Content Marketing Copywriter, Alexa Marmolejo,

  • “When people talk about team players, Daniel is the first person that comes to mind because he goes above and beyond to bring our projects to fruition; not to mention that whenever we have questions about content or customers or even products he’s literally always at the ready to fill us in. There’s no better feeling than having a teammate that’s that knowledgeable and reliable.”

According to our Digital Media Specialist, Quinton Huebner,

  • “Daniel has been great to work with, especially as someone who is newer to the company and coding industry. He always answers any questions I may have and has always done a great job in fostering a positive work environment in the office.”

According to our Order Fulfillment Manager, Tyler Martin

  • “I’ve been working with Daniel for two years now; we started off together in order fulfillment and it’s been great that both of us have been able to progress within the company. It’s been quite the journey seeing everything that Daniel does around here and the variety of roles he’s taken on; overall, I’d say he’s a well-rounded player.”

What Does The Future Look Like?

We’ve heard from some of Daniel’s colleagues, but now it’s time to hear from the man, the myth,  the legend himself, for what he has planned for the future. We first started by asking Daniel,

You’ve already managed to move through four positions, since you’ve started, including your most recent one; you’ve gone from order fulfillment, to marketing assistant, to sales and marketing coordinator and finally trade show coordinator; what would you say the next role you want to achieve is?

  • “I want to be CEO next; I’m just kidding; however, there’s this guy that’s growing out of the VP of Sales and Marketing position and I feel as though that position requires someone new, like me.

We also asked Daniel, what are you looking forward to in the near future with our We’re Coding Everywhere tour coming up?

  • “In terms of being the new trade show coordinator, I’m most excited to meet new people at each show; I’m also looking forward to learning about new applications, helping our customers find the solutions they need, and talking about our SNEED-JET ® products.”

Daniel already has a solid set of skills, but knowing him there’s always something new to learn and look forward to, so what is it that he’s looking to master next?

  • “In terms of skills that I’d like to master within the next couple of years, I’d like to learn more about Google ads, how they work, SEO practices, and how to run campaigns through Google. I’m currently working with this new channel as we speak, so I hope to learn more about this year.”

We look forward to seeing each and everyone of our teammates grow and we’re especially looking forward to seeing who will be taking MVP, People’s Choice, and Employee of the Year home at the end of 2023. Until then, make sure to keep an eye out on all of our great content and like always, we’re #KeepingCodingSimple.
