Top 5 SNEED-JET® Titan Applications: Unveiling the Pioneering Capabilities of Thermal Inkjet Coding
In this insightful exploration, we delve into the extraordinary capabilities of our SNEED-JET® Titan printers. Through our Top 5 Customer-Submitted Titan Application videos, we shed light on the transformative power of these printers in different production line scenarios. From vibrant color printing to seamless integration with various machines, join us as we unlock the remarkable features of SNEED-JET® Titan printers and their profound impact on the printing industry. Discover how these printers are revolutionizing the way manufacturers achieve precision, efficiency, and flexibility in their printing processes.
Unlocking the Power of Titan Bright Inks
In this video, we discover one of the standout features of the SNEED-JET® Titan printer: its ability to print with bright inks, including white and yellow. While traditional options like continuous inkjet and drop-on-demand (DOD) printers were expensive and could only use one ink color for their existence, the Titan series offers a cost-effective alternative. The Titan printer empowers manufacturers to create stunning prints with precision and efficiency with a range of colors available, such as black, white, yellow, blue, red, green, and even UV invisible. Best of all, the ink cartridges can be swapped out in minutes, if not seconds, which means that gone are the days when you would have to hire a technician to flush out your entire system just to swap ink colors.
Streamlining Packaging Processes with the SNEED-JET® Titan
As we see in the video, the SNEED-JET® Titan printer seamlessly integrates with stick-pack machines, which are seen for individual packages of powdered beverage mixes. These machines, also known as vertical form fill machines, utilize the Titan printer to add crucial information such as date codes, lot codes, and barcodes. The user-friendly 7-inch touchscreen controller acts as the brain of the operation, making it easy for manufacturers to input the required details. By combining the stick-pack machine and Titan printer, companies can optimize their packaging processes and ensure accurate and timely printing.
There are a few things to remember, though; if your production line runs continuous prints like the one seen in the video, then it’s important to consider adding a specialty sensor. In this case, the packaging had what’s referred to in the industry as a registration mark, so using a high-contrast sensor or registration mark sensor makes it possible to add prints accurately.
Custom Bottom Coding With SNEED-JET® Titan Series
In this video, we explore how the SNEED-JET Titan printer revolutionizes the printing of cans in a filling line. Thanks to this client’s modifications, the Titan printer performs bottom coding on cans, ensuring accurately printed best-by codes. Typically when we see applications such as this one, the customer is more than likely using a SNEED-JET ® Infinity printer since it does offer an extended throw distance of 10mm; however, that custom cut-out makes it possible for the printhead to be within 4mm-6mm of the product.
The custom cutout isn’t the only modification that’s helping to ensure crisp prints; this particular customer is also using an induction sensor or potentially a break beam sensor. Without a specialized sensor, it’d be challenging to produce prints accurately, seeing as though there’s no spacing between the cans; luckily, with the help of a specialized sensor, detecting the edges of the cans is possible.
Encoders, Registration Mark Sensors, and Alternative Specialty Sensors
In this video, our SNEED-JET® Titan printer proves its versatility by seamlessly integrating with a flow wrapper. Once again, with continuous prints like this one, it’s crucial to have a high-contrast photo eye sensor to pick up on those easy-to-miss registration marks. However, not every type of packaging will have a registration mark, and in those instances, we recommend using an encoder wheel. Rather than relying on some kind of visual to trigger the print, the encoder will keep track of some type of interval, whether that be distance, timing, or speed, to initiate a print. For instance, if you wanted to print a date code, lot code, barcode, QR code, etc., every four inches, you could set that parameter on the printer thanks to the encoder wheel.
Integrating the SNEED-JET® Titan with the Latest Innovations
In most of our customer-submitted application videos, we typically see the product move while the printhead stays stationary, but every once in a while, one of our customers will surprise us. In our all-time favorite video, you’ll witness the innovative setup of a traversing print head mounted on a robotic arm, offering unparalleled flexibility. While the controller is mounted on the exterior of the machine, the print head's movement is controlled by the overall machine's controller. This unique configuration, made possible by the SNEED-JET ® Titan printer's wiring capabilities, allows manufacturers to adapt the printing process to their specific production line flows. With this setup, the Titan printer demonstrates its compatibility with existing machinery and the endless applications it can serve.
You don’t always have to play by the rules to simplify your coding and marking process; like you’ve seen from some of our customers today, sometimes it just takes a little imagination and engineering to create the perfect process for you. SNEED-JET® Titan printers have transformed the printing industry with their exceptional features and adaptability. From the ability to print with bright inks and seamless integration with various machines to precise printing on cans and flow wrappers, the Titan series empowers manufacturers to enhance their productivity and meet specific printing requirements.
